I've rarely been waitlisted, so I can't say I relate very well, but I'll tell you this: I hate having to waitlist people. It would be great if we could bring everybody that shows up into a raid, but the game doesn't work that way. It would also be great if everyone could participate equally, but if we filled raid spots with that in mind, we wouldn't be very successful.

Hence, we have a waitlist.

A waitlist is an important feature of any successful raid. Without people on standby, when someone has to leave early, or unexpectedly leave, the raid is then a man short.

Our waitlist is sometimes lengthy, sometimes nonexistent, and the raid almost always goes better when there's at least some waitlist.


Our waitlist has several important rules:

-People on the Waitlist gain as much EP as people in the Raid.
-If you are on the Waitlist, and are not ready to step in within 5 minutes of being needed, you will have EP deducted: waitlisters do not earn EP by being AFK the whole night.
-Who is waitlisted and when is at the full discretion of the raid leadership. Raid comp is often the most important factor in the success of the raid.
-Waitlisters can log out or onto alts, do BGs, farm, etc. As long as your main is in the raid, you will acquire EP.

-If you wish to do Arena, Dailies or 5-mans, leave the raid and whisper the officer awarding EP when promted in guild chat.

-It is expected that you are still accessible (ie Alt, Vent, etc).
